Developing healthy and sustainable foods: Foods for the future

We are pleased to invite you to participate in this sandpit event, organised in collaboration with the SNAC research group, and hosted at the Awen Institute, Swansea University.

This 1-day event will provide insight into research and innovation opportunities for healthy and sustainable foods, with a focus on seaweed, algae, and other plant-based solutions as “foods for the future”. Key topics to be explored as part of ideation and networking activities include:

  • Opportunities for innovation: New applications for healthy and sustainable food products
  • Tailoring food products to key demographics: Spotlighting solutions for older adults
  • Challenges to the development and marketing of products: Exploring consumer and industry perspectives

This event aims to bring together participants with a broad range of expertise in the food and drink sector, and support networking opportunities between Welsh and International collaborators with the potential to apply for future funding opportunities.
