BIC Innovation and AI Wales announce new partnership to support AI adoption across Welsh businesses

BIC Innovation and AI Wales have announced a new partnership aimed at helping businesses across Wales understand, adopt and benefit from artificial intelligence.

As organisations increasingly explore how AI can improve productivity, support decision-making and unlock new opportunities, many are looking for practical guidance on where to start and how to implement AI effectively. This partnership brings together AI Wales’ expertise in artificial intelligence and emerging technologies with BIC Innovation’s extensive experience supporting business growth, innovation and organisational change.

Together, the organisations will work to develop activities, resources and support that help businesses identify opportunities for AI adoption, build confidence in its use and implement solutions that deliver real business value.

Rod Howells, Commercial Director at BIC Innovation, said:

"We're really pleased to be partnering with AI Wales at a time when businesses are actively looking for practical ways to adopt AI. This collaboration brings together AI Wales' technical insight with BIC's experience in business change and innovation, creating a really strong and complementary offer. We are particularly excited about the opportunity to support Welsh SMEs in moving beyond the hype and achieving the real, tangible benefits from AI in a way that is practical, appropriate and delivers genuine value to their businesses."

Jaymie Thomas, Co-founder of AI Wales, added:

"AI adoption is accelerating across every sector, but many organisations are still unsure how to take the first step or where to focus their efforts. By partnering with BIC Innovation, we can combine our expertise in AI with BIC's deep understanding of business growth, innovation and change. Together, we're creating a practical route for Welsh businesses to explore AI opportunities, build confidence and realise tangible benefits in a responsible and effective way."

As part of the partnership, Welsh SMEs are invited to complete the How AI Ready Is Your Business? Assessment. Rod explains

“Many organisations have started trying out AI tools in some form but there are many aspects to introducing AI tools into your business successfully and securely. We find many need a structured, business focused approach to its adoption. Our AI Readiness Assessment helps organisations understand where they are today and highlights practical opportunities to build confidence, capability and impact.”

The partnership marks the beginning of a collaborative programme of activity designed to help Welsh businesses embrace AI in a way that is practical, responsible and focused on delivering measurable outcomes.
