Nicole is the project coordinator for the Food and Drink Export Club, and delivers upon the marketing and communications objectives. She also supports with marketing activities across BIC, having being involved in many projects since joining. With previous experience in marketing and PR roles, Nicole is confident in her communication abilities. Nicole supports the delivery of marketing objectives, through development and delivery of social media content, newsletters, webinars, email campaigns and websites.
Nicole has offered marketing and communications support on projects such as Nutri-Wales, Tyfu Cymru, Export Cluster, Atlantic Area, Innovate UK EDGE Wales and the Covid Resilient project. Nicole is a fluent Welsh speaker.
What’s the biggest misconception people have about your role?
That marketing is all about shiny flyers and adverts. Marketing is deeply rooted in any successful project from start to finish. If it’s not, give us a call!
What advice would you give your past self?
Stop worrying about the future and enjoy the moment! As cliche as it sounds, ‘Everything happens for a reason.”
What TV advert / marketing campaign has stuck in your mind?
The 2011 John Lewis advert is a firm favourite for me. At the beginning you think the little boy is greedy and just wants the days before Christmas to pass so he can receive his presents, only to find out that the whole time he was so eager because he wanted to give his mum her present. I love the way marketing is able to play with your emotions!
What’s your most used emoji?
It has to be the laughing-crying face (it is used in most of my communications…formal and informal!)
What are your key skills?
Professional key skills? I’d have to say marketing and design, bringing ideas to life through collateral. Personal key skills? I’m the queen of a Sunday roast!
