In one sentence, what do you do at BIC?

I’m part of the team of Innovation and Growth Specialists, helping Welsh SMEs to navigate their way to business growth.

What would you say inspires you?

I had an uncle who worked for Rolls Royce, doing design work on the Olympus engines for Concord. He taught me about electricity and let me go nuts with big electromagnets after smuggling me into work one day. As a kid I figured that was the coolest job on the planet and I decided to become an engineer at the age of 8. It almost worked!

If you could get a new skill in 10-minutes, what would it be?

A second language. Or more than one!

Any top tips for managing multiple tasks and tight deadlines?

If you’re not going to make the deadline, tell folks as early as you can. I’ve lost count of the number of ‘difficult’ emails I’ve had to write on why deadlines got missed, and in my experience the more warning people get, the less grief results! Just my 2p…
