As BIC’s Food Project Co-ordinator Angharad brings over 20 years administrative experience to the role, along with her passion for food and drink. Working as part of the food export team, Angharad has this year helped co-ordinate 4 food and drink trade development visits on behalf of the Welsh Government’s Food Division to Italy, the US, France and Ireland. as well as co-ordinating training workshops, clinics and and events for the Food and Drink Export Club.
An experienced event co-ordinator, Angharad has a proven record of delivering a range of events from tender through to delivery and post event reporting. Projects range from cookery demonstrations and exhibitions, through to award ceremonies and even the broadcast of the Welsh Assembly’s third term Royal opening.
Before joining BIC Angharad worked as a Group Operations Assistant for New Directions where she successfully delivered three of the Company’s annual conferences and dinner to high acclaim. With attention to detail and creative flair, Angharad brought a unique experience to these events. Whilst at New Directions she also managed the Inspirational Teaching Awards over two years, from inception right through to the award ceremony for 300 people.
Angharad previously worked as Project Manager for Howel Food Consultancy where her passion for food and drink flourished. Her focus while at Howel Food was co-ordinating a wide range of projects on behalf of the Welsh Government’s ‘Wales the True Taste’ brand. Angharad co-ordinated the brand’s presence at several consumer facing events and trade shows, both in the UK and internationally, with the aim of promoting award winning food and drink from Wales. Some of the events Angharad has been involved in include HOFEX, Hong Kong, SIAL, Paris, Alimentaria, Spain, Foodex, Japan, Food & Drink Expo, Birmingham, Taste of London, London, RHS Hampton Court, London and the CLA Game Fair, Blenheim Palace and co-ordinating two St David’s Day markets on London’s Southbank.
Whilst at Howell Food Angharad also Project Managed the Welsh Government’s True Taste mobile demonstration kitchen, which was used to promote True Taste award winning products at a wide range of locations and events across Wales and the UK, including 2 Wales-wide supermarket tours of Tesco and ASDA. Angharad secured a food hygiene rating of 5 for the kitchen.
Angharad’s food knowledge and experience has seen her adapt to a variety of roles including, producing a bespoke cookery demonstration schedule for Tesco’s stand at the Royal Welsh Show, developing and testing recipes for the True Taste magazine, Kitchen Manager for Hybu Cig Cymru/Meat Promotion Wales on various lamb supermarket roadshows (cooking lamb), cooking local and Welsh dishes for visitors on Visit Wales’ stand at the Abergavenny Food Festival and food styling with photographer Huw Jones for Blas Y Tir products.
Whilst working as Office Manager for EJ Catering, Angharad successfully tendered to cater for the 2012 True Taste Food and Drink Awards – feeding 450 people from the food and drink industry out of a field kitchen in Builth Wells.
