Llwyddo yng Ngwynedd - Arloesi
The Rural Development Plan 2007-2013 (RDP) is the mechanism by which the Welsh Assembly Government will deliver activities which support the countryside and rural communities, encouraging the sustainable management of agriculture and the environment.
Rural Development Plan Projects in Gwynedd
A series of four projects are implemented in Gwynedd under Axis 3 and 4 of the Rural Development Plan. These projects operate as a series, whereby an individual or group can move from stage to stage (joining the process at any point), or simply take advantage of one or two activities.
As part of the broader Rural Development Plan in Wales, Llwyddo yng Ngwynedd – Arloesi, facilitated by BIC Innovation on behalf of Gwynedd County Council aims at developing an enterprising culture within the Rural Gwynedd Area through innovation.
This programme has been created specifically to support members of farming families, but is also open to other individuals, businesses and the rural population of Gwynedd in general to develop innovative ideas into new products and services with the view of establishing a collection of commercially viable ventures.
The scheme can provide assistance for market assessment (100% funded) and technical development & pre-commercialisation / pre-implementation (50-75% funded) research and will be based on a cooperative approach where the creation of groups will be encouraged. In order for the majority of the farming community to engage in the development of new ideas BIC Innovation will use our expertise to provide a high degree of facilitation and encouragement.
The scheme has been split into three distinct projects to ensure that the correct, focused support is provided, according to the nature of the product or service they wish to develop, these projects are Agriculture, Non Agriculture & Environment.
The Arloesi project is 1 of 4 RDP Llwyddo yng Ngwynedd prjects, other Llwyddo yng Ngwynedd projects are:
MENTRO: This project sets a base for the development of quality innovative ventures in Gwynedd, by working with specific target groups to “wake the enterprising spirit”
ENABLING FUND: practical support alongside financial assistance for new ventures, including capital
CYMUNEDAU CYNHYRCHIOL: aims to add value to Gwynedd’s unique characteristics, assets, products and ‘offer’ and maximise the economic benefits for local rural communities. Working with local communities (rural post offices, shops, hotels, etc) to develop rural tourist information points and outlets
