BIC Innovation combines forces with Pera to form Pera Cymru
08/06/2009
BIC Innovation are pleased to announce the launch of Pera Cymru in collaboration with Pera, the UK's leading innovation and performance improvement organisation.
The establishment of Pera Cymru is an exciting development which enables Pera to combine its skills and experience with BIC’s specialist knowledge of the Welsh economy and public sector. Pera Cymru will focus on helping Welsh large, medium and small sized enterprises to drive down cost and increase productivity and sales.
Pera Cymru will provide specialist consultancy and training around three key areas:
• Innovation
• Business Improvement
• Leadership and Management
Dave Grange, Director Business Improvement & Skills says, “Pera Cymru is an exciting opportunity for Pera to develop its presence in Wales. In BIC we have a strong partner with great contacts, experience and demonstrable track record of delivering to both the SME and LE sectors. This combined with Pera’s own track record of delivering into these sectors makes us a formidable partnership"
As a priority, we are focusing on expanding our Business Improvement Techniques (BIT) programme into Wales. The opportunity has arisen as a result of a recently announced Welsh Assembly Government funding scheme called ProAct. Almost £50M has been made available to support the Welsh manufacturing industry and other sectors during these recessional times.
Dafydd Davies, Chief Executive of BIC Innovation says “BIC Innovation delivers extensive innovation programme support for the Welsh Assembly Government as well as directly to business, academia, NHS in Wales and the wider public sector. The partnership with Pera and the formation of Pera Cymru will enable us together to expand rapidly the provision of skills and training support in Wales, a relatively new area for BIC ”
Rod Howells, Pera Cymru’s Business Development Manager says, “In these difficult economic times Pera Cymru’s mission is to help businesses to be in the best position to make the most of the opportunities available to them now and in the future. We believe that most companies are seeking to achieve direct improvements that will immediately help their business. For this reason, the Pera Cymru BIT accredited programme is a must have – especially as it can be subsidised by up to 100%, including a wage subsidy, under various Welsh Assembly public sector grant programmes"
