Want to minimise the risks associated with New Product Development?
02/06/2010
Managing the priorities and activities of day-to-day business, leaves many businesses with limited capacity for longer term R&D and new product development (NPD).
Alongside that, the technical and commercial risks associated with new product development increase the challenge.
As part of the integrated package of support brought to you by the Welsh Assembly Government’s Flexible Support for Business, Business Innovation – New Product Development helps businesses adopt a structured approach to innovation and R&D, greatly enhancing the chances for success – and saving you time and money.
A team of Innovation Managers, all with ‘hands-on’ industry experience, together with specialist Intellectual Property Managers, provide impartial advice and guidance on new product development.
First, the Innovation Manager carries out a review to help identify your specific business needs. Then, when an R&D or NPD project has been identified, the Innovation Manager assists you to scope the project, access appropriate funding, identify technology requirements and develop the project through referral to relevant support. When the project is up and running, the Innovation Manager works with you to monitor progress and provide ongoing assistance.
A number of the Innovation Managers are dedicated to providing support to individual innovators and small start-ups to develop their ideas and introduce them to the marketplace. This support is offered through WIN, the Wales Innovators Network.
If you want to address the IP (intellectual property) issues in your business, or find out how to collaborate with other businesses and academics, or generally minimise the risks associated with new product development, Business Innovation – New Product Development can help.
