Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) is the European Commission’s flagship programme for supporting the development and growth of SMEs through internationalisation. Each of the approximately 600 delivery partners in 65 countries (EU, BRICs, etc.) use network resources and engagement with the other delivery partners to identify and develop international commercial, technology and research & innovation partnership opportunities for their SME client base.
The main duties of this Senior Advisor role will be to proactively build and support the EEN & I2S client base in South East Wales. This position therefore presents an excellent career development opportunity for a suitably-experienced individual interested in delivering innovation and internationalisation consultancy support to SME businesses.
Candidates will have a minimum of 5 years industrial and/or business consultancy experience. Having had international aspects to previous roles is desirable, but it is essential that candidates can evidence work in or around innovation within industry such as R&D, open innovation, product management, development/management of a technology-led business or SME innovation support/consultancy. The successful candidate will also have proven ability of building rapport and face-to-face working relationships with private sector businesses having innovation and/or international aspects to their activities. A basic understanding of intellectual property rights (IPR) is desirable.
A full driving licence with own vehicle available and insured for business use is essential. This job is based at our Pencoed office, so the successful candidate would be comfortable with travelling daily to our Pencoed office or travelling around the assigned SE Wales territory, which is approximately Port Talbot to the Severn Estuary and up to the A465, in order to undertake client meetings, attend networking events, etc. International travel may occasionally be required.
This is planned as a full-time (currently 37.5 hours/week), permanent vacancy, however part-time working at approximately 30 hours/week with pro-rata salary could be possible.
