A physicist by degree and an industrial engineer by experience, Andy is a LEAN practitioner and accomplished manufacturing consultant who has aided numerous small, medium and large enterprises in the manufacturing sector as well as the service sector and has worked with numerous manufacturing companies through the Manufacturing Advisor Service (MAS) Programme in Wales and the North West. He gives strategic and practical advice with hands-on support on process improvement and new product development. Recently he has given Lean Leadership seminars to undergraduates.

Andy possess specialist knowledge in optical fibre manufacturing and processing, whilst also having a strong background in process and production engineering, development engineering, project management, quality systems and production control, including project and site management on a national and international (China, India) level.

Andy is versatile across all sectors and has over 23 years experience in industry, having previously worked for global companies such as Pirelli, Corning and Ocular Science and ssuccessfully managed professional engineering, manufacturing and quality teams as well as a research group.
